The Challenges

The Granite Reliable project was the largest utility-scale wind farm built to date in the state of New Hampshire.  The project is located in the Northern extension of the White Mountains, which consist of very dense rock which required blasting and hammering for roads, collector trenching, foundations and transmission line pole placement.  The 99 MW project utilized 33 Vestas V90 3.0 MW turbines and now produces enough electricity annually to power 25,000 homes.

  • Access roads, crane paths and pads
  • Rock anchor foundations
  • 34.5-kV overhead and underground collection system
  • 5.8-mile 115-kV overhead transmission line
  • Substation
  • Tower erection
  • 5,000 SF operations and maintenance building
