The Challenges

The Milford Wind Corridor Phase I was the first utility-scale wind farm built in Utah and was completed 6 weeks ahead of schedule.  The project utilized 39 GE XLE 1.5-MW and 58 Clipper C99 2.5-MW turbines and now produces enough electricity to power approximately 60,000 homes annually.

PROJECT SCOPE OF WORK

  • Engineering design, procurement, and construction of civil and electrical system BOP
  • Self-perform construction of 25 miles of access roads, crane pads, crane paths, and associated infrastructure
  • Design and self-perform construction of spread-footer foundations
  • 34.5/345-kV substation and interconnect switchyard
  • Fast-track self-perform erection and mechanical completion of 97 GE and Clipper wind turbine generators
  • Installation of 88 miles of 345-kV overhead transmission line
  • Construction of 15,000 SF operations and maintenance buildings
  • Fiber optics communication and SCADA network
