The Challenges

The Montfort Wind Energy Center was the first utility scale wind project constructed in the state of Wisconsin.  The project was constructed during harsh winter conditions and features 20 GE 1.5 MW turbines.  The 30 MW wind farm now produces enough electricity to power 9,000 homes annually.

PROJECT SCOPE OF WORK

  • Engineering, procurement, and construction of the electrical system, including 24.9 kV collection system and 24.9/69 kV substation
  • Fiber optic communications for SCADA system
  • Ongoing high voltage emergency response and predictive maintenance services
