IEA Inc. has been selected by E.ON Climate & Renewables North America to provide engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services for the Settlers Trail Wind Farm located in Iroquois County, Illinois.
As the EPC contractor IEA will self-perform the erection of the wind turbines, construct all access roads, and modify existing public roads, design and build all foundations and collection systems. The Settlers Trail wind farm will consist of 94 GE 1.6 XLE turbines, 1.6ME each, bringing 150 MWs of clean renewable energy power to this region. The work is scheduled to start in November 2010 and will be completed in October 2011.
IEA Inc. has been involved in the construction of more than 4,000 MW of wind across the U.S. and Canada. This wind farm will be IEA’s eighth wind project in the state of Illinois and their second project with E.ON Climate and Renewables.
