IEA Inc. announces construction has commenced on the Pinnacle Wind Farm located in Mineral County near Keyser, West Virginia. Ground was broken on the project in February 2011. The wind farm is the second in the State of West Virginia to be constructed by IEA and will consist of 23 Mitsubishi 2.4MW wind turbines. The project owned by Edison Mission Energy and originally developed by US Windforce, LLC, will bring 55 MW of renewable energy upon its completion which is scheduled for October of this year.
As the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction contractor, IEA is responsible for the design and construction of all access roads, wind turbine foundations, electrical collection system and high voltage substation and erection of the wind turbines.
IEA Inc. has executed more than 4,000 MW of wind across the United States and Canada. The Pinnacle project will represent the seventh wind project owned by Edison Mission Energy for which IEA has been selected to provide construction services.
