Los Angeles Transportation Center Intermodal Facility
Ragnar Benson was contracted to help modernize the Los Angeles Transportation Center Intermodal Facility (LATC). The project consisted of new pavement and drainage, a new access road and bridge, new track, and an automated gate system, which will greatly increase the 100-year-old facility’s efficiency. The intermodal terminal is critical to moving domestic shipments to and from the Los Angeles metropolitan area. The terminal encompasses almost 150 acres near a fully developed urban downtown area. It is surrounded by three major freeways and is on a floodplain.
