Sticking Around: Francisco Lara
With a background in scaffolding and having no fear of heights, Francisco Lara wasn’t surprised when he started tower climbing for IEA. Now, with over four years at IEA under his belt and having been in over 500 towers, there is no other job that Francisco could ever imagine himself in.
Looking back, Francisco remembers his first time in a tower at Bayview. “When I got to the top, the view was amazing,” said Francisco. “Ever since that first view, I have loved every part of my job.” Having been a part of projects including Bruennings Breeze, Stella, Midway, Patriot and Goodnoe Hills, Lara senses extreme pride when driving on the highway and seeing projects that he has been a part of.
When asked why he has stuck around for so long, Lara attests to the great leadership and people. “I’ve worked with two other companies and IEA is always my preferred company,” said Francisco. “The people are great to work with and the management is good. I’ve met a lot of friends and feel that I am truly respected and valued.”
Francisco pointed out that knowledge is worthless if you can’t share it and he is so appreciative of the mentorship, but also all of the safety lessons that he has learned. With safety being at the center of everything that we do at IEA, there is no other sticker on his hat that is more important than his safety one.
Thank you, Francisco, for sticking around. We look forward to seeing what you can accomplish at IEA in the years to come.
