IEA recognized as “Top Contractor” by ENR
Engineering News-Record, or ENR, provides analysis and data for the construction industry worldwide. It’s regarded as one of the construction industry’s most authoritative publications. Each year, they rank contractors overall and within segments of the construction industry. ENR recently released their complete sourcebook survey issue ranking top contractors, naming IEA in seven categories!
Top Power Contractor – Wind Energy
Wind remains a power player for us. ENR ranked IEA as the 2nd largest wind farm contractor in the nation. With a tiny margin in between us and the #1 spot, this solidifies our market-leading position in this growing market.
Top Contractor in Power (Overall)
We pride ourselves on being a leader in the construction of energy infrastructure. Further, it's clear we are constantly improving in this area. In 2021, IEA was ranked #4 on the overall top power contractors list, moving up two spots from the 2020 rankings.
Top Contractor - Mining
Our mining and materials production work is spearheaded by IEA subsidiaries Saiia and William Charles Construction. Their significant operations in the mining and materials production sector keep us at the #5 spot on ENR’s top mining contractors list for the second consecutive year.
Top Power Contractor – Solar
Solar continues to gain momentum across the country, as does IEA's solar project backlog. This year, we were ranked #8 on the ENR top solar contractors list, four spots higher than our ranking in 2020.
Top Transportation Contractor – Mass Rail & Transit
Our rail capabilities continue to grow with large rail projects led by IEA subsidiary Ragnar Benson. ENR listed our company as the 17th largest mass rail and transit contractor in this year’s report.
Top Transportation Contractor – Highways
With decades of experience in completing heavy highway construction projects across the country, our #18 spot on ENR’s top highway contractors list is no surprise!
Top Contractor in Transportation (Overall)
Our heavy civil capabilities and our hard-working people helped to secure us the #39 spot in the overall transportation market.
It’s a major accomplishment to be listed as a top contractor across so many diverse categories. Not only does this support IEA’s leadership position in energy and infrastructure construction, this recognition also fuels our motivation as we continue to deliver the highest caliber of work to our customers nationwide.
