Women In Construction: Azenette Chavez
Having previously worked in the refineries, many of Azenette (Azzy) Chavez's friends encouraged her to look into a career within safety. In June 2020, Chavez took their advice and decided to join IEA Constructors as a safety specialist. As a woman in construction, Chavez is the first to point out the challenges, but the good times far outweigh any challenge that she's ever faced. With IEA, Chavez acknowledges the amazing safety culture that she's been a part of and the great mentors and people she works with every day. Under incredible safety leadership, Chavez has grown in many ways and attributes her growth to all of the training opportunities that IEA offers. At the end of the day, Chavez has been so encouraged to be a woman in construction and has gained the confidence to do her job that allows everyone to go back to their families at the end of the day.
