Diversity Within | Cheyenne Dove
Throughout the IEA Family of companies, we celebrate all our employees and the diversity that they bring to the organization. By acknowledging the diversity within, we will be able to make large strides that allow positive change throughout our organization and beyond.
When one thinks of diversity, many turn to things that can be seen. This includes someone's race, ethnicity and gender. However, there are more facets to diversity and we are excited to share Cheyenne's diversity journey with you. From wrestling with dyslexia and epilepsy to living her authentic life as part of the LGBTQ+ community, Cheyenne Dove is a walking testimony that diversity isn't necessarily visible.
"We need to make people aware that diversity can't be seen and sometimes it's things that people experience that others have no idea about," said Dove. "It's important to be mindful of the things you say and realize how things are perceived."
At the end of the day, Dove notes that we all share a deeper story and in some ways, we can all relate in one way or another. We all have something to share, regardless of who you are and if you're willing to have those conversations, you'll be able to meet people where they're at in a new way.
Through her story, we want to inspire and encourage employees to know that they're not alone. By providing a safe space where everyone feels supported, we hope to push the message that everyone has a seat at the table.
