IEA helps Make-a-Wish to Indianapolis twins
Indianapolis-based twin brothers Caleb and Kaden Ratliff are both diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. Despite their diagnosis, they’re encouraged by their parents to dream big - recently, their dreams came true. Through a collaboration with Make-a-Wish, Indianapolis IEA employees mobilized to build this dynamic duo a K-9-themed playhouse right in their backyard.
Caleb and Kaden both want to be police officers when they grow up and share a love for dogs, particularly K-9 dogs. Combining their love for K-9 dogs and dream of a decked-out fort, they dreamt up a plan and IEA was thrilled to assist with the project.
The boys’ father, Brandon Ratliff, shared how much it meant to their family to have IEA volunteers come out and construct the playhouse over the course of four days.
“A little bit goes a long way, and you see that just in their smiles, their happiness. Just keep doing what you're doing and that’s it. It means something to people,” said Ratliff.
Caleb and Kaden are so grateful to everyone who came out to help grant their wish and even emphasized how proud they were of all the volunteers working in 100-degree heat. However, the heat did not stop the boys from offering everyone popsicles and encouraging the crew!
“It's really fabulous that we have this amount of enthusiasm and I'll say just genuine charitableness in our employees,” said IEA Chief Operating Officer Mike Stoecker.
Caleb and Kaden, thank you for showing our IEA family what it truly means to dream big.
